How can I obtain an airline ticket receipt without losing money or flying?
Q. My contract stipulates that I can obtain a refund for a return ticket from where I am working to my country of origin. All I need is the airline ticket receipt (last page of the airline ticket). The date can be in the future or past, it doesn't matter. However, it must have my name on it. I don't want to fly to my country of origin right now but I want to take advantage of the refund. The place I work for insists on an airline ticket receipt. Is there any way to obtain it without flying or losing money? If I buy a ticket and refund it later I think I will lose money through some kind of cancellation charge. Will an airline office or ticket agents supply me with one? The last page is void and no good for flying but I think the ticket must… [cont.]

What percentage of NFL game tickets are bought and sold through ticket brokers?
Q. I've been trying to get Pittsburgh Steelers tickets for several years. I've been on the season ticket waiting list for about 12 years. I find it very interesting that I can never buy tickets at face value. Of course I can order them through ticket brokers, but i will not pay 3 times face value. I was just wondering, during a typical NFL game, what is the average number of people who bought their tickets through brokers and felt they paid too much.

A. I think its approximatley 26.8%, i just checked ona website

How do ticket conductors remember everybody who has shown a ticket?
Q. I gather this would require a decent memory and perhaps a few techniques. I imagine the ticket conductor would try and remember passengers through their actions (is the passenger reading or not?), by clothes and fashion (what colours stand out?) and so on? Are there any techniques at all involved? Fast Reg, I thought so. I always have noticed that when ticket conductors enter the carriage they say "tickets please" and everybody who got on looks.
Asked by Walter - Wed Jan 14 08:10:17 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. They don't always remember. On long journeys there have been ocassions when I've been asked to produce my ticket more than once by the same conductor. However, I guess once you've been up and down the train a couple of times between stops you get a pretty good idea of who is sitting where. I don't believe there are any special techniques. In fact, what I have observed is that the passengers who have just boarded often identify themselves. The conductor will walk into the carriage and call "Tickets from ___ please", and all the people who got on at that stop will make eye contact with the conductor as he/she comes past and show their tickets.

I have made a one way ticket reservation to india via kuwait airways. How can I make it a 2 way ticket?
Q. I wanted to return to US via europe. Now I have cancelled that plan and I want to convert this ticket to a two way ticket. My agent is refusing to do that. What can I do?I will lose a lot of money if I buy another one way return ticket.
Asked by joofri2006 - Mon May 12 16:15:02 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You haven't told us why your agent is refusing to do it -- it's possible that the agent's refusal has to do with fare rules that don't allow the ticket to be changed at all. If this is the case, then you're going to either have to buy another one-way ticket or lose the value of this ticket entirely and buy a new return ticket. Knowing why he's refusing to do it might help obtain a better answer.

Where can I look for ideas to design a ticket without having to buy a program?
Q. My boyfriend asked me to help him come up with ideas to design tickets for his go kart track. I don't want to purchase any programs or anything. I just want to get some design ideas and maybe have a sample ticket to edit and print out. Is there a way to design a really cool ticket without having to buy an expensive program or ordering tickets? He'll be able to make them if I can just come up with something. I need something easy b/c I'm not familiar with this sort of thing. Also, the size of the ticket would be close to the size of a concert ticket, include information, and have some nice graphics. I'll need to know where to look for cool graphics to advertise with.

A. its very easy to challenge them and win as i have done it before. as far as points, it could wind up on your record but not likely as the ticket stays in the state you got it in. your home state won't have access but to your home state. i have gotten tickets out of state and it stays in that state and nothing ever went on my home state record.

How do you know when a parking ticket is real or fake?
Q. Hey, I know this may seem like a silly question, but when you get a parking ticket or any kind of ticket when you are in violation either given to you when you have reached your vehicle or personally given to you by a police officer, how do you know if the ticket is real or not? Some tickets are fake. How do you know? Thank you.
Asked by Jordin K - Wed Dec 9 19:05:36 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You can contact the agency that issued the ticket. A real ticket will have the agencies name and address. It will also have a unique number and give you instructions on how to take care of it. Every parking ticket I've seen is in the shape of an envelope, so you can submit a payment. If it is an envelope, it is almost certainly valid, as I doubt someone would go through the extra expense of printing an envelope.

What to do about a ticket for driving without insurance?
Q. (I live in Washington). I got a ticket today for driving without insurance. It says on my ticket that I can do either a mitigation hearing or a contested hearing (contested being where you challenge the infraction). I intend to get insurance so I can bring it with to court. But is there some way I can get this deferred or something? This is my very first ticket.

A. I believe the "mitigation hearing" means If you buy insurance now, take the proof of insurance to court with you, the ticket may be (mitigated) dismissed.

Theres no way you can fight this=[ Sorry. Edit; Even if it's right on right.. you have to stop, scan for traffic and go.

How do you tell a counterfeit Red Sox ticket from a real one?
Q. I purchased 5 tickets to a game at Fenway from someone online. How can I determine whether or not they are real? The background of the ticket looks like other tickets I have bought, and all the fine print on the front and back is identical to tickets I have bought directly from Fenway. However, the printed text is slightly different and I am unsure if this is legit. Anyone offer any advice? Thanks!

A. You really wont be able to tell until you go to the game, if they turn out to be counterfit file a complaint with whatever service you used to purcahse them online if it was ebay or stubhub and the person will be banned. Sometime the text does look where on tickets though, I received some last year like that as well. The only way you will know is when you go to the game.

Speeding ticket in Ontario, How much will an increase be on my insurance per vehicle?
Q. I have just gotten a speeding ticket in on my Ontario driver's license. Can anyone tell me a rough figure as for how much as an average I could be paying on extra insurance for my vehicle when it gets updated? And how long will these penalty premiums be in effect? Thank you.

A. They company I work for will only run the MVR once. So there is a chance you will not see an increase. We do state in the policy that we can run the MVR at any time but the only time I have ever seen them run it again is if you have multi accident's or your account gets red flagged or if it lapses and you try to reinstate the policy. Ever company will have different procedures so I cant promise it wont go up but if they do run the MVR then you can expect a 10%-30%increase. Good Luck!

How much is the ticket for talking on a cell phone while driving?
Q. My mother got stopped by a cop (once again) but this time for talking on the phone while driving. As everyone knows money is very tight right about now so I would like to know how much the ticket is going to cost us. And no when my mother received the ticket there was no information about how much the cost was going to be.

A. It depends upon where it happened. I read an article yesterday that Cheyenne, Wyoming is contemplated passing an ordinance with a fine of $750 - yes, seven hundred fifty dollars! In Brooklyn, Ohio the fine is up to $100, but normally $30.

How can I buy a cheap airline ticket from small cities in southeast?
Q. I'm living close to the Miss. State Univerisity. It's close to the airports of Columbus, MS, also Tupelo, MS and Tuscloosa, AL. I search almost all ticket websites but the prices are much to high. Sure I know the way to buy tickets from Jackson, MS or Birmingham or Memphis. However these cities are a little far away and the gas would cost a lot if I drive there. When I was in northwest, it was easy to find cheap tickets from internet, even small airports.

A. I would suggest the following: 1) Find out all of the airlines that fly to those small airports. Many times there are airlines that flights do not appear on Expedia and Orbitz. For example, if your small airport has a United Express float, fly to destinations where United flies, that will be cheaper than if you try to fly to Atlanta (Delta) or Houston (Continental) have their hubs. That is why it is important to know which airlines fly to your airports. 2) I recommend the following sites to compare prices: www.sidestep.com www.kayak.com www.lastminutetravel.com www.onetravel.com 3) Flights are cheaper if you fly on weekdays, also search for flights during the day, not at night as you wont have that many options. 4)have you consifdered… [cont.]

A. Most airlines will give you a refund in the form of flight credit up to two weeks before departure. Give 'em a call.

A. You can only do traffic school every 2 years, if I remember correctly. Pay the ticket, take the points and live with the increase in insurance. In 3 years the ticket and accident should be taken off you driving record anyway, at least in most places it is.

How much is a ticket when the passenger under 16 is not wearing a seatbelt?
Q. I live in CA. I recently received a ticket because i was carrying a passenger that was under 16 and was not wearing a seatbelt. I'm just wondering how much the ticket would be?

A. Interestingly enough, it is NOT listed on your citation, and there are no "general statutes" in California, and you won't find the actual fine which will be imposed in the Vehicle Code either. I assume you were cited for VC 27350.5. The statewide schedule calls for a fine of $380. (Note, if you are not the parent, and the parent was in the vehicle, you cannot be convicted of this offense.) If you lucked out and were cited for VC 27314, the scheduled fine is $76. Your fine will be within a few dollars of the scheduled amount.

How much is a ticket for failure to yield right of way in the state of Texas?
Q. This is my first ticket. It happened last Wednesday and every time I call the court house to get a cost on the ticket, it still hasn't been filed yet. I just want to pay it and get it over with.
