The bond card as issued by AAA, is your promise to appear for court or to answer the ticket (by paying it, appearing in court to contest it, or taking the drivers course and pleading no contest). If you fail to appear, the folks who put up the bond (AAA) will forfeit their money. Needless to say, AAA would probably not keep you as a customer after that! d:) In the case of presenting a bond card, the officer may take or escort you to the police station to verify that the card is valid and that a legitimate bond can be presented in your name. So, you could still be delayed more because of the traffic stop. I'm not certain that AAA still does this at all anymore.
