One idea I've heard is that we should buy things for our favorite charities, and fund the things we want funded with that. I don't think it really provided a lot of economic stimulus, but it does make people feel happy. I really can't say . . . but I do wish the government would put the money into schools instead. This is susposed to enable you to send your child to a school of your choosing and the Government will pay just like they are going to the public school in their area. I don't have this in my area. I know that the tax rate is based on fair market value (FMV) rather than approximate retail value (ARV), so if she used it, I believe it would be based on the amount she used.
